- Cold Splice Machine
- Cold Splice bonding is a means of joining two ends of an extruded
part without the need for large sections of heated tooling. Cold
Splice bonding will NOT burn off flock or distort the apperance of the part.
The joint reaches a strength greater than that of the part shortly after
bonding, so no special part handling is required as with high temp molding
Our cold splice machines use infrared emitters to focus energy only where it is needed. This improves operator saftey, and allows for high production rates of high quality parts.
The molds are sturdy two piece designs that allow for consistent part location. Mold forms are cut to customer provided CAD data to insure an accurate fit and incorporate a small cutting edge to trim any flash from the joint. This means that no labor intensive secondary operations are required after joining.
